Day 3:
Today, Lucas Scholars officially began. Day 3 is Project Declaration day. Students arrived on campus and were given two ultimatums: declare the members in your group and explain what you will design. After a few moments of initial anxiety, the scholars came together, and PIRL began to hum with creative energy. In 30 minutes time, we had 10 projects declared. This year we have projects ranging from a prototype Lamborgini, to a crossbow, to stop motion and green screen films and robots that spin, move and prepare slides for microscopes. It is an exciting time to be a mentor for these projects, and as a team, we are excited to continue our design process tomorrow. As always, please check out the Media Wall for up to date photographs.
